Adult Class Descriptions

Acting Lab students take a year to learn and practice the skills a director expects them to know and be able to apply during a six-eight week rehearsal period.  During the fall session, they continue technique exercises, choose a play to produce, and learn how to analyze the entire work and how their characters fit into it.  They apply the character exploration techniques they mastered in Beginning Acting Workshop to the creation of a fully-round, living character for the stage.  The spring session is a rehearsal period for the play.  Techniques mastered in Intermediate Acting Workshop are used to their fullest as students create the lives and relationships of the characters in the play.  The class culminates in a full performance in our studio space.

Adult Acting Workshop is an on-going class where students of all backgrounds and levels come together to study the acting techniques used by professionals.  Students explore acting through movement, voice, and improvisation as well as scene and monologue work.
