

Speak up at “Speak the Speech!”
Do you have a passion for theatre and an appreciation for the works of Shakespeare? If so, come be a part of “Speak the Speech: A Shakespeare and Monologue Scene Contest.”
Presented by Pensacola Little Theatre’s Beyond Boundaries, Southeastern Teen Shakespeare Theatre Company and Barnes and Noble Booksellers, Speak the Speech will provide an opportunity for contestants ages 13-19 to choose and memorize a Shakespeare monologue or scene.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three contestants. 1st prize is a supporting role in Loves Labors Lost, 2nd prize is a PLT FlexPass and 3rd prize is four tickets to Loves Labor Lost.
There is a $5 fee to enter and the deadline for entries is Feb. 3.
The first round will be held at Pensacola Little Theatre on Feb. 11 and the final round will be held at Barnes and Noble on Feb. 18. PLT is also hosting a book fair at Barnes and Noble on Feb. 18.
The contest will host celebrity judges Andy Metzger from the Pensacola News Journal for both rounds and Lena DeFlores, former Miss Arizona and WEAR ABC-3 morning show anchor for the final round.
The rehearsal period for Loves Labor Lost is March 5-May 17 and performances will be held May 18-20 and 24-27.
